The COVID-19 pandemic has taken quite a bit from us. First, it took our health and then it took our wine, but not forgetting our basic human instinct to tap our feet and shake our caboose to some epic music.
With social gatherings off the menu for the last two years, the soles at the bottom of our feet have been itching, but thankfully, there may be some light at the end of the tunnel as Plett Rage is back on the menu.
For 20 years, Plett Rage has been a coming of age for thousands of South African students, a youth-oriented Right-Of-Passage that blends music, art and social ideals.
“We have emerged from these past two years with a newfound reverence for the power and magic held in the community, for the transformational healing effect that uniting with friends both old and new on a dance floor can have on one’s entire being. Because of this, we look forward to ushering in a new era of reflection, acceptance, reconnection and responsibility. A time of celebration. A time to come together. A time of gathering. We look forward to our long-awaited reconnection this December,” said event organisers.
So, get your dancing shoes ready because this year’s Plett Rage will return to being the week-long festival we all know and love, spanning seven days. Plett Rage 2022 will run from Friday 2 December to Thursday 8 December, this means Ragers will need to ensure they check out of their accommodation no sooner than the morning of Friday 9 December.

But the fun doesn’t end there as the organisers will be hosting a five day festival in Plettenberg Bay before Plett Rage 2022. This event will serve as a kick start to the festive season for university students and young professionals making their way home for the holidays or celebrating the completion of their exams.
However, you’ll need to show your ID to get through the door as the event will have a strict age requirement of 19 and above to attend.
Celebrate this incredible rebirth by hitting the dance floor in the afternoons and boogie well into the night, giving festival-goers the daytime to explore the local tourism scene and get in as much beach time as they can before dancing the night away with us.
Open that savings account and circle the date on your calendar as this event will take place from Sunday 27 November to Thursday 1 December. 2020 and 2021
Plett Rage Passport holders will receive a complimentary ticket to this festival as soon as it is launched. More details will be made available in the coming weeks.
