The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate has advised motorists and pedestrians of roadworks that are currently taking place along sections of 5th Avenue in Lotus River and Victoria Road in Grassy Park, according to a recent press release by the City.
The resurfacing started today and will continue until Thursday, 20 June. It will take place during the day from 9am to 3:30pm, from Monday to Friday.

The scope of the maintenance includes the removal of the existing surfacing layer and replacing it with hot-mix asphalt on the following sections:
- 5th Avenue from Zeekoe Road to Strandfontein Road, Lotus River
- Victoria Road from 5th Avenue to Klip Road, Grassy Park
Traffic will be deviated to adjacent roads and temporary stop/go traffic controls will be used where no alternative road is available.
Councillor Rob Quintas, the City’s Mayoral Committee (Mayco) Member for Urban Mobility, has thanked the public for their patience and has advised road users in the area to ‘exercise caution while work is under way’ and to pay attention to road signs.
