The Strand and Lwandle South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested two suspects, after they were involved with and perpetrated a business robbery in Strand on Thursday, 4 April, according to a recently released SAPS media statement.

Police responded to a complaint of a business robbery in Wilimina Street, Strand, where unknown suspects robbed a retail store of cigarettes, vapes, sweets and an ‘undisclosed amount’ of cash.
Both suspects soon fled the scene, and after police members spotted their vehicle, a high-speed chase ensued. The chase ended when the vehicle collided with another vehicle, and both suspects fled on foot to evade arrest.
SAPS members soon chased them and arrested the two adult male suspects. Stolen items and a 9mm pistol were recovered.
Both suspects currently face charges of business robbery, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property.
Once charged, the suspects will be due to make a court appearance in the Strand Magistrates’ court on their charges.
