The South African Police Service (SAPS) has resumed their search for a missing child in Middelpos, Saldanha, after the search was postponed last night.
This is according to police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie.
The office of the Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape revealed that Joshlin Smith (6) was reported missing by her mother on Tuesday, 20 February 2024, with preliminary information revealing that Joshlin was left in the care of her mother’s boyfriend on Monday, 19 February 2024.

When she returned home from work later that afternoon, Joshlin was not there.
After Joshlin’s mother got hold of her boyfriend, he was ‘unable to account for her whereabouts’, said Pojie.
At the time of her disappearance, Joshlin was wearing a light blue t-shirt and light blue denim shorts and can be identified as having grey blue eyes and blonde hair with a ‘birthmark on her right arm’.
After being reported missing by her mother, a full-scale search was initiated, which consisted of the investigating officer, Sergeant Meyer Millstine of the Vredenburg Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS).
Policing members, Disaster Management personnel and ‘a magnitude of community members’ have also become involved in the search for Joshlin.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Joshlin is requested to contact the investigation officer, Sergeant Millstine of Vredenburg FCS, at 079 879 8588 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
