On Thursday, 1 February, Loukmaan Adams and his wife announced the opening of an educational centre in Woodstock for children from the foundation phase to Grade R.

‘In the world of entertainment, I never expected to tackle such significant community issues. Yet, here I am, dedicated to becoming a guiding light for children with bright futures,’ Adams noted in a Facebook post.

The singer announced the opening on his sixth wedding anniversary. A few weeks ago, Loukman and his wife Shaakirah were approached to assist in establishing a much-needed children’s institution as an existing school was closing its doors.

‘Teachers were also left unpaid, adding to the hardship. As parents ourselves, we knew we had to step in.’

The couple opened Happy Gifts Educare under the Unity Foundation and has called on the community for support. Every contribution counts, whether it is soft toys, educational materials, books, or any other donations.
