The decrease from stage 6 to stage 2 comes as a result of the pumped storage dam levels having been adequately replenished for the week ahead, according to the update.
The power utility added that diesel levels at the OCGT power stations have improved but remain low.
As a result, stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented from 8am to 4pm today. Thereafter, stage 4 loadshedding takes over from 4pm until 5am on Monday.
Eskom said an update will be published as soon as any significant changes occur.
