The only thing better than spending a great day outdoors, playing the sport you love, is doing it all for a good cause. Last Friday, the annual Spring Classic Golf Day was held at the stunning Erinvale golf course in Somerset West. Is it held in support for the Drakenstein Palliative Hospice, who provides free palliative care to more than 300 patients and their families, and adds value to the lives of those affected by HIV and other chronic illnesses.

There were 128 participants, including rugby legend Chester Williams. They all came out to support a worthy cause, one that needs continuous help to keep on doing their incredible work. Vital Health Foods, the main sponser of the event strives hard to promote healthy lifestyles. The Spring Classic Golf Day uphold this through the event itself and the Drakenstein Palliative Hospice which it supports.

George Grieve, Group Chairman Vital Health Foods says:

‘We were thrilled with the amount we raised for the charity, and were overwhelmed by the massive support from our sponsors and suppliers.’

This year they raised R180 000. To date the Spring Classic Golf Day has raised R1 million for the Paarl hospice.
