This is not the first wee saga, with Theuns Du Toit expelled with ‘immediate effect’ earlier this year, also for urinating on someone’s belongings.
Management of the residence was informed that the perpetrator was “severely intoxicated,” reports News24.
A statement from SU declared that the student was suspended from the residence on Saturday pending the outcome of an investigation.
Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Prof Wim de Villiers, said he will decide on a course of action after analysing the facts.
Meanwhile, Prof Deresh Ramjugernath, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Learning and Teaching, said the University “will continue to use all resources at our disposal to combat the scourge of irresponsible alcohol consumption”.
Exams start this week. #Stellenbosch is trending on Twitter.
Also this week, South Africa’s National Prosecuting Authority confirmed that it intends to prosecute Theuns Du Toit for malicious damage to property and crimen injuria.
