The Stormers are set to welcome back a familiar force as Hacjivah Dayimani ends his stint with Racing 92 to return home to South Africa permanently.
The 28-year-old flanker, who joined the French side for the 2024–25 season and featured in 19 matches, will rejoin the Cape franchise amid a mounting injury crisis.
Racing 92 confirmed the early departure came for personal reasons, allowing Dayimani to be closer to his family. The club praised his professionalism and commitment, while Dayimani expressed gratitude for their support during his time in France.
Dayimani’s return couldn’t come at a better time for coach John Dobson, with fellow loose forward Ruan Ackermann sidelined long-term and locks Salmaan Moerat and Ruben van Heerden also unavailable. Ben-Jason Dixon is expected to move from No. 7 to cover at lock, making Dayimani’s lineout expertise a critical addition, particularly after the Stormers struggled in the set-piece against the Sharks.
Merci Hacjivah🫶
Le Racing 92 et Hacjivah DAYIMANI mettent un terme à leur collaboration d’un commun accord.
Cette décision, prise pour des raisons personnelles, permettra au 3ème ligne sud-africain de retourner en Afrique du Sud auprès des siens.

The former United Rugby Championship title-winner is expected to be available for the Stormers’ high-stakes clash with the Lions at Ellis Park on February 28. His dynamism in open play and prowess in the lineout are set to provide the team with a timely injection of experience and power just when they need it most.
With Dayimani back in the fold, the Stormers hope to stabilize their pack and regain momentum as they chase success in the URC this season.
