Passengers at Cape Town International Airport may face challenges with e-hailing services and extended wait times due to an upcoming strike by e-hailing operators over the weekend. Nonetheless, airport authorities have assured travellers that they have implemented contingency measures to minimise any impact on airport services.

According to the Airports Company South Africa (Acsa), they have been informed about the strike planned by the Western Cape E-Hailing Association, which is anticipated to disrupt e-hailing transportation for passengers at the airport. The strike is scheduled to commence from Saturday and continue until Monday, during which participating drivers will refrain from providing e-hailing services at the airport.
‘Acsa would like to highlight that the grievances raised by the association are not directed at airport operations or the management at [the airport],’ Acsa said.
To ensure a hassle-free journey for all travellers, Acsa recommended that passengers arrive at Cape Town International Airport at least two hours prior to their domestic flight departure and at least three hours before their international flight departure.
‘This will provide adequate time to complete the check-in and security procedures in the event of delays caused by the disruption of e-hailing services.’
According to Times Live, Acsa encouraged travellers to utilise authorised airport taxi operators situated within the terminal building.
