A municipal building in Swellendam has been set alight in what is reported to be a protest action linked to concerns regarding service delivery.

According to reports on Twitter, protesters are also obstructing the N2 with debris and flaming tyres.
As per Twitter updates from @TrafficSA and @Theewaterskloof Municipality, most major roads within Swellendam, including the N2 route passing through the central Swellendam area, are closed due to the ongoing protests.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and steer clear of the affected vicinity.
