A fire broke out on Table Mountain, in Fountain Ravine, on Friday evening. The cause is unknown. Firefighters are still trying to contain the blaze, which reached new heights on Saturday afternoon.

Table Mountain Aerial Cableway suspended its services and about 40 firefighters from the NCC Wildfires and Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) are on the scene, in conjunction with Working on Fire’s (WOF) helicopter services.
Emergency services are requesting that people avoid the area including Tafelberg Road.
