As the taxi strike continued despite a weekend of negotiations between the Western Cape Government (WCG) and the City of Cape Town with the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco), several roads were blocked due to protest action.

The City has continued to deploy traffic and metro police presence in these areas.
As of 7:30am, the following roads have been cleared:
- Piketberg N7 enroute Paarl via Moorreesburg, Riebeek, Hermon, Wellington, R45 to Southern Paarl;
- R300 between Stock and Van Riebeeck Roads;
- N2 outbound from Borcherds Quarry to Macassar turn off;
- Maroela Street and Old Paarl Road, Kraaifontein;
- N1, R300 Jakes Gerwel and Highlands drive to Woodlands, Mitchells Plain;
- Main road, Kuilsrivier / R300 and N1; and the
- R300 from Watergate Mall to Delft Airport Mall.
