The City of Cape Town announced that various areas of the metro will be without electricity from Tuesday, 29 March to Sunday, 3 April 2022 due to maintenance on its electrical infrastructure.
“Where customers are affected by supply interruptions due to normal maintenance, they should receive a door-to-door notice ahead of the planned work,” the City states.
Here are the areas where planned routine maintenance will take place:
29 March
Somerset West: Beaulie and Bakkerskloof Rd – 8:00 – 18:00
Kuils River – Amandelrug: Manatoka, Kerk, Olienhout, Piet Fransman, Keurboom, Walnut, Pruim, Goudwilger, Hardekool, Fisant, Du cup, Kiepersol, Pendoring, Kameeldoring, Kanabos and Geelhout – 8:30 – 16:00

Where possible, please switch off appliances at the wall socket ahead of maintenance to reduce the risk of damage caused by power surges.
The supply could be restored at any time, therefore residents should remember to treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the interruption.
