The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a weather warning for Cape Town, the Cape Winelands, and parts of the Overberg. Brace yourselves for a significant weather event this weekend, primarily on Sunday into Monday.
What to Expect:
- Western, southern, and central South Africa are in for a rainy and stormy weekend.
- The Cape Provinces and central interior have been put on high alert due to the potential for heavy rainfall leading to flooding.
- Expect strong winds as the system sweeps over the southern parts of the country, particularly affecting the Western Cape and Eastern Cape.
- Coastal areas in the Western and Eastern Cape provinces may see rough seas with heights ranging from 4.0 to 6.0 meters.
SAWS added that it’s best to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.
