Police recently discovered the body of an unidentified male near Monwabisi Beach’s parking area, marking the latest in a string of grim findings along Baden Powell Drive.
According to the Weekend Argus, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning, with the body declared deceased on the scene by paramedics.
The area, known for its isolation and dunes, has increasingly become a dumping ground for murder victims.

Beachgoers discovered the victim, who reportedly was only wearing shorts and had sustained multiple stab wounds.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that Mitchell’s Plain police are actively investigating this murder case.
The discovery follows a pattern from the previous year, where several bodies were found in the vicinity of Baden Powell Drive, Macassar and nearby beaches.
Towards the year’s end, two women’s bodies were located at Monwabisi Beach and Wolfgat Nature Reserve.

Western Cape CPF chairperson Francina Lukas expressed deep concern over the violent start to the new year.
She condemned these crimes, highlighting the terror and trauma inflicted on the community, and urged SAPS and law enforcement agencies to intensify their efforts in resolving these incidents.
MEC of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Reagen Allen, called for increased and more visible SAPS patrols along Beach Road on the False Bay coastline.
‘This latest discovery should serve as encouragement for greater and more visible SAPS patrols within the area. Regrettably, it is becoming synonymous with crimes either occurring or bodies being discovered there,’ he said.
