WhatsApp’s new update will soon release a feature allowing group admins the ability to delete any messages for all group members.
The new feature is intended to assist group admins in better moderating their WhatsApp groups with an aim to tackle the problem of annoying spam and inappropriate or abusive messages sent in group chats.
According to Android Headlines, the platform is rolling out the new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.17.12 where the Admin Delete feature will become available to some lucky beta testers.
Much like the current ‘delete for everyone’ function available in private chats, when a group message sent by another member has been deleted for everyone by the admin, all members will still be able to see that a message has been deleted. In place of the deleted message, a box specifying that an admin has removed that content will remain.
This follows a bunch of other new update features the messaging app has been working on. Some are already available to users worldwide, while others are still in the developmental stage.

One such feature currently in the developmental stage is a new status quick reactions function, a feature to be released in a future update of the iOS beta app whose date has yet to be announced.
When you want to reply to a status update in this future version, you will be able to react by choosing one of the eight available emojis: Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes, Face with Tears of Joy, Face with Open Mouth, Crying Face, Folded Hands, Clapping Hands, Party Popper, and Hundred Points. When you react to the message, it is immediately sent to the chat in the form of a message reply.
The WABetaInfo report mentions that if you are a group admin of a WhatsApp group and would like to verify if the new feature is available to you, simply tap and hold a message within the group, click to delete and check if the option “delete for everyone” pops up.
