The City of Cape Town has announced the commencement of road resurfacing works along Victoria Road and Albert Road in the Woodstock and Salt River areas.
The project, which began on 25 March, is expected to conclude by the end of June 2024, weather permitting.
Victoria Road, spanning from Barron Street to Browning Road, and Albert Road, stretching from Nelson Street to Salt River Circle, will undergo resurfacing as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to maintain urban infrastructure.
Work will be conducted on weekdays and Sundays between 8:30am and 3:30pm, with occasional night shifts from 6:30pm to 5:30am.

The project encompasses resurfacing the roads, including Salt River Circle, and conducting extra work such as repairing sidewalks, curbs, channels, concrete defects and repainting road markings.
While some drainage maintenance may prompt lane closures, efforts will be made to carry out these tasks during nighttime hours to minimise disruptions.
Councillor Rob Quintas, mayoral committee member for urban mobility, expressed gratitude to residents, road users and pedestrians for their patience during the maintenance period.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to plan their travel routes accordingly and exercise caution when navigating through construction zones.
