The affected versions, including Bermuda, Sapphire, Dark Olive, and Lilac of the Country Road Two-Tone DEMM Mug range, are subject to return to stores for a complete refund, according to the company’s announcement.
‘This is due to a manufacturing defect having been identified in certain mugs, causing the mug to unexpectedly break when hot liquid is poured into it, resulting in the base separating from the body of the mug.’
Woolworths clarified that only the four specified colour variations are affected, reassuring customers of the safety of the rest of the DEMM range.
The mugs are priced at R199 each. Additionally, in February, Woolworths recalled its peanut butter ice cream brand due to elevated levels of aflatoxin, posing potential health risks.
