Not all heroes wear capes! If we could all make small changes in our communities, maybe the world would be a better place writes Cape {town} Etc’s Leigh-Ann Londt. Let’s talk about a young hero from Philippi who exceeds lengths to keep his community’s dogs and cats healthy.
Sivikele is one of the Animal Welfare Society of SA’s Youth Ambassadors, who takes it upon himself to visit the shelter each week, accompanied by pets from his Philippi community, who he brings to the shelter for primary health care and sterilisation.
He goes from door to door and encourages not only the youth, but adults to get on board when it comes to the health and sterilisation of their pets.
Sivikele displays these acts of kindness once he gets home from school and walks to the Animal Welfare Society of SA’s clinic every week. “Which is not a short distance, but he always has the pets and his communities best interest at heart”, says the Animal Welfare Society of SA.
If you would like to get on board in any way to help the Animal Welfare Society of SA assist Sivikele, please contact them on 021 692 2626 or send an email to [email protected].
