While its picturesque Franschhoek Valley setting is an artwork in itself, La Motte Wine Estate invites those who appreciate the finer things in life to visit the estate for a wonderful sensory experience – whether you enjoy the visual arts, culinary creativity, music or of course, the art of winemaking!
THREADS OF SYNERGY – A NEW EXHIBITION OF SOUTH AFRICAN TAPESTRY ART OPENS AT LA MOTTE
In a world where disembodied virtual experiences have become the order of the day, Threads of Synergy – a new exhibition of South African tapestry art in the La Motte Museum – pays homage to the artisans’ presence in the making. This exhibition of large-scale tapestries calls for a tactile encounter, regaining sensitivity towards surfaces and reawakening our sense of touch. Visit the exhibition from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00 – 17:00. Entrance is free.
THE ART OF WINEMAKING
Renowned for its quality wine portfolio, La Motte wines are elegant and beautiful to enjoy on their own or as a versatile partner to food. Enjoy one of the estates curated wine tasting experiences – including special releases, older vintages from the Rupert Vinoteque or even a Varietal Glass-specific tasting!
Celebrating South Africa’s culinary heritage, Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant has introduced a more relaxed format and a lunchtime à la carte menu treating guests to comfort food and hearty favourites with a modern interpretation. With its refined and calm ambience perfect for extended lunch hours, Chef Eric Bulpitt’s food is moreish and satisfying, but not without a chef’s touch! Indulge your sweet tooth with a trip down memory lane – desserts and treats from the Farm Shop revealing a legacy of nostalgic sweets in a way that charms and comforts.
