Located in the Breede Valley district between Montagu and Touws River, Huizen’s Verloren and Yellowstone cabins offer a completely off-the-grid getaway for uninterrupted living in nature.
These modern cabins are furnished with an open-plan layout, a wood-fired hot tub, an outdoor bath and shower, and an indoor fireplace. Both cabins have fully-equipped kitchens with Smeg appliances and free WiFi, of course.
Simplicity and design
Huizen is founded on the ethos that the planet comes first and people second. By manufacturing modular homes, Huizen aims to create eco-friendly, sustainable homes that reduce the harmful impact on the environment as much as possible.
Its modular, eco-friendly homes allow you to live in some of the most secluded spots in South Africa. The modular homes, designed to blend in with nature, use an open-plan concept with malleable shutter doors, making indoor-outdoor living your new normal.
Huizen also works with a trusted group of suppliers and partners within its network to ensure that quality is never compromised.
Nature and sustainability
Huizen’s modular homes are conceptualised and manufactured with the beauty and significance of the South African landscape and its diverse vegetation in mind. Focusing on reducing its impact on the planet, Huizen uses only recycled and eco-friendly materials.
With sustainability as one of its main values, Huizen aims to uplift the people within the surrounding communities and use locally found materials and services.
The Huizen story
With an upbringing surrounded by nature and all it offered, the Oosthuizen siblings grew up with a love for the South African landscape. The word ‘huizen‘ is Dutch for house and a shortened version of their last name, Oosthuizen.
The siblings have always had a mind for business. With the idea for Huizen, they intended to establish stylish and simplified eco-friendly cabins, allowing you to live in nature, at home.
