Mark your calendars for 4 April 2024 from 6pm, as Norval Foundation invites you to immerse yourself in a harmonious blend of wine, food and artistic brilliance.
At the Norval Foundation Art Museum, an extraordinary evening of fine dining and cultural enrichment awaits you.
Central to this enchanting affair is the esteemed winemaker, Callie Louw. Hailing from the Swartland, just a few kilometres south of Riebeek-Kasteel and perched on a rugged outcrop, Louw will join you for a three-course pairing dinner at Grub & Vine Norval.
Known for his humility and warm hospitality, he is the custodian and vigneron of Porseleignberg, acquired by Boekenhoutskloof Winery in 2009. With a deep connection to the land, Louw cultivates grapes on his John Deere tractor, crafting wines of profound depth and flavour.
His dedication extends to the art of label-making, where he personally crafts labels using an antique letterpress printing machine, a testament to his passion for both tradition and innovation.
Join Norval Foundation on a sensory journey as you acquaint yourself with the artist behind the grapes, engaging in insightful discussions and savouring the fruits of his labour.
The thing I like most, is farming. The winemaking side of things is an opportunity to see how well you’ve farmed
– Callie Louw
The experiences start in the Norval Foundation galleries, where guests are invited to indulge in tantalising canapés, thoughtfully crafted to complement the distinctive notes of Louw’s wines.
Wander through the exhibitions and Sculpture Garden as you sip on wine and savour each bite, immersing yourself in the after-hours of artistic expression. From bold brush strokes to monumental installations, each masterpiece at the Norval Foundation tells a tale of creativity.
Let the captivating synergy between art and wine awaken your senses.
At the stroke of 7pm, Grub & Vine Norval will guide guests on a culinary journey. Indulge in a sumptuous three-course pairing menu expertly crafted by Grub & Vine Norval to complement Louw’s selection of wines – including a few surprises!
Relish in the flavours of each dish, accompanied by exquisite wines, while also having the opportunity to personally meet and greet the master winemaker himself.
