Cold and windy weather took over the Cape this weekend but that certainly put no damper on the buzzing excitement that filled the air of the Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon when the Junior Boks battled Ireland in the semi-finals of the World Rugby U20 Championship.
While the Junior Boks played well for large parts of the game, it was Ireland who secured their spot in the final with a dominant second-half performance that led them to a convincing 31-12 win.

Despite swirling winds and a disappointing campaign for our Baby Boks, the match was filled with action as Ireland showed stadium spectators why they came to South Africa as back-to-back U20 Six Nations champions.

While our hearts may be saddened that our Baby Boks won’t be making an appearance at the final, they’ll be going head-to-head against England in the bronze playoff on Friday at Athlone Stadium.
