The Galileo Open Air Cinema’s screenings offer unique entertainment for both locals and tourists and an opportunity to take advantage of the Cape’s beautiful locations and vistas.
Weekday movie screenings are set against the natural backdrop of Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and the urban oasis of Central Park in Century City, and screenings on select Fridays and Saturdays invite you to movie nights hosted at vineyards in Paarl, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Somerset West.

6 December: The Whale
The Whale is a 2022 American psychological drama film written and directed by Darren Aronofsky. Brendan Fraser, Sadie Sink, Hong Chau, Ty Simpkins and Samantha Morton star in the film. The plot revolves around a reclusive and obese English teacher who attempts to mend his relationship with his adolescent daughter.
Fraser received the Academy Award, Critics’ Choice Award, and SAG Award for Best Actor for his performance. The film also received the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Chau was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

7 December: Bridesmaids
Bridesmaids is an American comedy film released in 2011. The plot revolves around Annie (Kristen Wiig), who suffers a string of misfortunes after agreeing to serve as maid of honour for her best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph).
Rose Byrne, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ellie Kemper, Melissa McCarthy and Chris O’Dowd also star in the film.

Pitch Perfect is a musical comedy film released in 2012. The plot follows the Barden Bellas, an all-girl a cappella group from Barden University, as they compete for Nationals against another a cappella group from their college.
Beca, a freshman at Barden University, is persuaded to join The Bellas and adds much-needed vigour to their repertoire for the campus competition.
