The Galileo Open Air Cinema is back for its 12th season, offering a magical outdoor movie experience from 31 October 2023 to April 2024. With over 100 classic films suitable for all ages, it’s a film buff’s dream.
Weekday movie screenings are held at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and Central Park in Century City, and screenings on select Fridays and Saturdays are hosted at wine estates in Paarl, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Somerset West.

22 November: Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, is a 2002 grand-scale fantasy adventure, that adapts the second book of J.R.R. Tolkien’s renowned trilogy, The Lord of the Rings. Advancing the narrative from its predecessor, the film weaves together three separate plots. As Frodo and Sam inch nearer to Mordor, guided by the dubious Gollum, the splintered fellowship confronts Sauron’s recent collaborator, Saruman and his armies from Isengard.

The Galileo is ecstatic to welcome all four-legged pals for a special movie night alongside their human companions. While outdoor film showings have traditionally been for people only, The Galileo is initiating this pet-friendly venture at this particular location.
You can purchase not just your own seat but also a VID (Very Important Dog) pass for your furry friend. Act quickly, as VID passes are in short supply and proceeds will benefit Oscars Arc.
To guarantee a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone, adherence to the event’s terms and conditions is crucial. Specifically, dog owners are obliged to be considerate of other attendees, whether they come with or without pets. All dogs must be well-behaved, social and restrained by a leash no longer than two metres at all times.
