Steenberg Festival is full of holiday spirit. Head over to Allenby Drive Sports Ground in Retreat for a fun festive season activity.
The Steenberg Festival is the first of its kind in the area, hosted by the City’s Economic Growth Directorate.
‘I initiated the Steenberg Festival to promote Ward 68 to the wider community of Cape Town. The aim is to create a platform and opportunity for local vendors, artists and businesses to demonstrate their talents and skills,’ says Ward Councillor Marita Petersen (Ward 68).

‘This festival will showcase what Ward 68 brings to the city. I encourage everyone to attend and not miss out.’
The festival, along with various stalls, will include live entertainment and activities throughout the day.
‘Shoppers, music lovers and anyone needing to make a last-minute gift purchase must check out the Steenberg Festival,’ says Alderman James Vos, the City’s mayoral committee member for economic growth.
‘It was so encouraging to see many vendor applications and I really must applaud Cape Town’s traders for putting themselves up and applying to be part of this event. These markets and festivals help local traders to earn an income over the festive period.’

‘Studies also show that when people buy from small businesses, more money circulates within the community. So remember, when you’re having a good time at the festival, you are also supporting local traders and our economy.’
