Yesterday, at approximately 7am, Deon Warrington was on an early fishing expedition off the coast of Melkbosstrand when he had the pleasure of witnessing a pod of dusky dolphins gracefully swim by.

The sight of these beautiful creatures up close and personal was undoubtedly a breathtaking experience.

The dusky dolphin is a species of dolphin that inhabits the coastal waters of the Southern Hemisphere and is mainly found around South America, southwestern Africa, New Zealand, and various oceanic islands, with occasional sightings around southern Australia and Tasmania.
It typically prefers cooler currents and inshore waters, but can also venture offshore. Its diet consists of various fish and squid species, and it employs flexible hunting tactics.
The dusky dolphin is renowned for its acrobatic ability and performs numerous aerial behaviours.
