Have a look at these images of the moon’s waning crescent phase at 9% captured this morning at sunrise and shared with us by Benjamin William Pearce.
How incredible to capture this waning phase of the moon in the different shades of dawn, from complete darkness to blue, brown and finally golden, as the sun begins to rise over Cape Town.
The photo series was taken at 6:45 am from the Air Force Base in Ysterplaat.
The moon’s waning phase lasts for 7 days with only 49% – 1% of the moon’s light visible to the naked eye until becoming a New Moon again.
