As a call for visitors to make their way to the Mother City over the winter months instead of just waiting until December, Cape Town Tourism brought together some of the city’s best-known faces to explain just how awesome Cape Town is even in the cold, with a song of course.

The catchy tune features well-known locations around Cape Town, from BoKaap to Sea Point Promenade.

Famous faces include Suzette DIY as Tali Babes and actor and comedian Siv Ngesi.

The video has plenty of unique Capetonian humour and the introduction catches your attention with a few sweeping drone shots of our beautiful Mother City:

It is hoped that the video and the wider campaign it forms part of will reignite tourists’ desires to visit Cape Town this winter and boost the usual winter lull in the tourism industry.

Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management for the City of Cape Town, says, “What’s great over winter time is you can really relax, with off-peak rates and winter deals making travel and experiences affordable and accessible to so many more people, who can have an amazing holiday that’s friendly on the pocket.”

Visitors can also download an awesome digital ebook which includes some of the city’s best winter deals, including low-cost flights thanks to a partnership with Mango Airlines. Booking of low-cost fares runs from May to August 2019, with the travel window closing at the end of October.
