Night on the Square, City Night Market is excited to host a weekend of fashion and fiesta at Green Market Square on Saturday, November 27 2021 from 5pm until 11pm and Sunday, November 28 2021 from 11am to 10pm. Let the fun begin!
Make your way to Green Market Square on Saturday, and ease your way into the weekend by enjoying their fashion show featuring young designers and models from Cape Town. Enjoy the fashion splendour and appreciate the talent of our young designers.
Shop as you sway to the sounds of Los Gitano’s mariachi band from Cape Town. Enjoy the Spanish dancing and dance to the sounds of Mexico. Move to the rhythmic beat of Vezz, one of our regular musicians.
Eat your way around the market, savour the food. Cool down with their flavoured ice cream. They have something for every palate. Find presents for all your friends, from perfume, jewellery and clothing. Shop for your favourite brand, appreciate the designs and crafts.
Enjoy a slow start on Sunday with a brunch at the market while you indulge in the foods of Cape Town and shop for your trinkets, crafts and prezzies. Work off the food by dancing to the sultry tones of Tracey Daniels, moving to the rhythm of Frank Oliver and allowing yourself to be dazzled by an assortment of their favourite Mystical Belly Dancers.
There’s something for the kiddies too with rides and a jumping castle. Don’t forget to spoil the little ones with popcorn, candyfloss and other goodies – yum!
Night on the Square organiser Mr Baran Kalay said: “It is heartening to see the people of Cape Town and tourists coming back into the City. The City of Cape Town and CCID must be commended for making Greenmarket Square a safe space of fun for family, fabulous food and fashion. The City initiative to bring people into the City and revive its economy is working”
“Night on the Square is a prime example for markets and small events that could go a long way in assisting in the revitalisation of not only businesses in the Cape Town CBD but could also help in bolstering tourism in the business district this upcoming season. The City of Cape Town is proud to partner with some of the local businesses for the third and fourth instalments of this market which has proved successful over the last two months. This is a space where families, friends and Capetonians can enjoy a fun evening out in a safe environment,” said Luthando Tyhalibongo, City of Cape Town spokesperson.
Entry is free. Bring your kids, bring your grandparents, there’s something for everyone!
