The Western Cape’s most pre-eminent road race, the globally iconic Two Oceans Marathon, is set to take place on 16 and 17 April 2022. This comes after a two-year hiatus necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Cape of Good Hope SPCA couldn’t be more excited!
According to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, with their secured charity entries in the bag, they bring you not only the opportunity to take part in the world’s most beautiful marathon, but the opportunity to bring healing to sick and injured animals at the same time.
“Operating at an annual cost of around R8 000 000.00 and running at a loss in excess of R4 000 000.00, our animal hospital provides preventative veterinary care or life-saving treatments to an average of 45 000 animals every year, with 107 clinical cases seen per day – that’s 13-14 animals every hour. I’m sure you will agree, there is nothing worse than seeing an animal suffering or in pain but you don’t need to feel helpless – because now you can #Run2Heal with Team SPCA and the Two Oceans Marathon,” says the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.
