It was International Women’s Day on March 8, and what better way to celebrate than by giving women a platform to speak out on what is important to them? In a time when #women is more relevant than ever, we’re so excited to celebrate the relaunching of the iconic woman’s lifestyle brand, Woman&Home.

W&H, which was first established in the UK in 1926, is one of the leading woman’s lifestyle brands. The brand has a global mission to keep women informed on the subjects that matter to them so they can live smarter, healthier and happier lives.

The South African edition will be no different – as dynamic, fashionable, opinionated and well-informed as ever. The premium lifestyle magazine for women from mid-30s and up will be a jam-packed 130-page monthly magazine, featuring expertly researched buyers guides, in-depth features and the latest shopping news.

The main sections of the magazine will showcase beautiful (and beautifully practical) fashion, beauty trends, skincare advice, gardening insight, decor tips and must-have home buys. The informative, no-nonsense health, fitness and well-being features will cover a range of subjects, and feature inspirational women from around the world.

As for the most popular hobby to come out of lockdown? Every issue will feature at least 14 pages of delicious and exclusive recipes – everything from decadent cakes to heart-healthy dinners and family-friendly Sunday lunches.

We also aim to inspire holiday plans with travel recommendations both near and far, and will keep the readers safe on the roads with all the latest from the motoring world.

Women at the helm:

Woman&Home is headed by editor Heather Ingarfield, who has been working in publishing for the past 10 years. She is thrilled to revive this brand on South African shores, especially during this unprecedented time.

“I am so proud to be part of something that will be sending positivity into homes across the country, and inspiring women to be bold, be strong, and be happy,” says Heather.

“Getting this magazine off the ground has been interesting, to say the least, mostly because it all had to happen remotely. Online meetings and voice notes were our go-tos. The one exception was a very social distanced cover shoot, with our amazing cover star who’ll be revealed next week. Let’s just say, she’s smokin’ hot.”

She continues: “So many people have reached out to us already, expressing their joy about the relaunch of the magazine, and in the short time of working on the April issue, we’ve spoken to many different women from all corners of South Africa, and we can’t wait to bring their stories to the readers. It’s very clear that our motivation for each issue is centred around the women of South Africa – telling their stories, giving them advice, and making them smile.”

Lockdown has left us all feeling a little more isolated and burnt out with technology. Sometimes, the best thing to do for yourself is to put your phone down and pick up something tangible, something that reminds you of years watching your mom read W&H, or remind you of how you’d tear out posters, recipes or horoscopes from your favourite magazines.

“2020 taught us many things (how did we possibly wear bras and jeans all day long?), but the one thing we can’t shake is that feeling we need to connect: to other people, to information, to our past. And it’s that sense of nostalgia and familiarity that magazines bring you that you just can’t beat,” adds Heather.

Woman&Home will be on sale monthly available at leading retailers from March 19, 2021. Each edition will cost R49.90.
