Residents were treated to a breathtaking display of natural fireworks in the city skies last night when a rare electric storm hit Cape Town.
As the lightning flashed and the thunder roared, shutterbugs were quick to rush outside to enjoy moments of the incredible display.
Footage and images of the storm were captured by many and shared on social media, offering others their only glimpse of the awe-inspiring event.
