Natasha Napoli, founder of Nourish’d Cafe Cape Town, is on a quest to save the planet one bamboo straw and salad bowl at a time. After working overseas on the yachts, Tash had a realisation that happiness and fulfilment would not be found in stacks of euro’s, but rather in fighting for what she was passionate about. This is her story, and the story of how Nourish’d came to be the beloved plant-based eatery that we know today.
After her epiphany at sea, Tash ran away to a little eco-village in Costa Rica to study a 260hr yoga teaching training course and live on a permaculture farm. After this revolutionary experience Tash returned to the mother city with the hope of discovering her purpose in life.
One day, while rummaging through her fathers garage, a vision sprung forth,”What if I could turn this garage into a tiny cafe that embodied all of the principles I had learnt in Costa Rica?”. During her time on the permaculture farm she learnt that the key to happiness is living a more wholesome life connected to nature and your body. Nourish’d was born out of this dream of building a business that raises awareness of these principles. And so, Tash transformed her garage into a bite-sized juice bar!
Nourish’d is a plant-based, zero waste cafe and juice bar. The cafe serves delicious vegetarian and vegan juices, smoothies, sandwiches, and more! They also sell juice cleanses, tinctures, and zero-waste merchandise on their online store.
The cafe’s mission is to provide delicious food and successful eateries that are kind to both the human and earth body, based on the idea that food and eco-education are keys to creating harmony on our ecological home. At the cafe’s core is a focus on sustainability and ethicality. Ultimately, Nourish’d would like to see the whole world move to a plant-based, waste-free lifestyle.
“Animal agriculture is the leading contributor to deforestation worldwide. Meat production is also one of the cruellest, most inhumane industries on the planet. We simply will not support this kind of cruelty. Although we serve milk and some dairy products they are ethically sourced from free-roaming cows who receive oodles of love.” –Nourish’d.
Nourish’d chooses organic produce sourced directly from local farmers whenever possible. The food is made strictly with natural ingredients and no preservatives or flavourings.
Nourish’d is proud of their sustainable packaging initiatives and tirelessly puts effort into reducing their carbon footprint whenever possible. Take a look at their sustainability initiatives here.
