The Mother City is a unique place, where the cultures and colours of so many spectrums of life come together to create a unique atmosphere and community that is rarely experienced elsewhere.

With Heritage Day right around the corner, we thought we would take some time to remember some of the things that are uniquely Cape Town that we sometimes maybe forget to appreciate:

1. Cape Beauty

From fully loaded gatsbys to shisanyamas, koesisters and Cape Malay delights, Cape Town serves up a satisfying selection of traditional dishes.

Our city is well-known for its food offerings that never disappoint.

3. Wine & Gin Culture

When it comes to wine or gin there’s no better place to break open a bottle than the Cape.

With an astounding selection of world-class wine farms and estates as well as creative one-of-a-kind local gin distilleries, we are certainly spoilt for choice.

4. Architecture

Whether its modern or new age architecture, the Mother City has a myriad of exceptional architectural wonders to feast your eyes on.

Our Cape Dutch houses are gorgeous pieces of history, that we can appreciate and admire to this day and date back as far as 200 years.

5. Cape Fynbos

The Western Cape is also home to a unique selection of beautiful and mysterious plant life.

We are lucky enough to have over 8 500 different species in the Cape floral kingdom of which 6 500 can only be found in our province.
