Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) are looking for new recruits to join their team. In a post on social media, VWS encouraged hopefuls to make a difference for a worthy cause.
Volunteer Wildfire Services are recruiting firefighters, drivers, event managers, fund raisers and critical support personnel.
According to VWS, the job may look glamorous and exciting in the pictures, but being a volunteer is tough work whether you are on the fire line or working behind the scenes.
“As a volunteer you will not only learn about firefighting techniques, environmental conservation and the importance of team work – you will act as a fire champion to those around you, driving awareness and education on wildfires in South Africa.”
