Bantwini will perform on 28 October and make history by being the first local performer to headline a concert at the storied stadium.
Geordin Hill-Lewis, the mayor of Cape Town, and several members of the national media were present with him in the stadium’s business lounge.
‘It’s been a long time coming and I’m thrilled that we’re finally able to launch the Abantu concert and reveal the date of the show,’ shared Bantwini.
‘Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis and the City of Cape Town have been a pleasure to work with, and I’m super excited for the city to not only host myself but also the rest of the line-up that we will be unveiling.’
Bantwini added that his surprise international act is going to be among the most historic acts ever announced for a local concert.

Bantwini is also set to release his final album, which is also titled ‘Abantu’. A date is yet to be announced for her album release.
This announcement comes just a day after it was revealed that Bantwini, Boity and Nomcebo Zikode had signed a deal with new talent agency, Aline.
Independent Media Group Africa and The Music Arena, which is in charge of Gallo Records, one of the most illustrious record labels on the continent, collaborated to create Aline.
In addition to being a talent agency, the business also produces live performances, concerts, and experiential events.
The agency also disclosed that it had started the process of extending its range of services beyond music to include film and other forms of artistic expression.
The CEO of Aline, Sibo Mhlungu, stated in a press release sent to IOL Entertainment that his company represents storytellers who ‘shape culture’ and ‘accelerates their growth through deepening connections with consumers and forging partnerships across entertainment and media as we position our clients for success.’
