South African National Parks (SANParks), in partnership with First National Bank (FNB) and TotalEnergies Marketing South Africa, is calling for nominations for the 17th annual Kudu Awards.
Launched in June 2005, the Kudu Awards aim to recognise and honour conservation champions and external stakeholders who contribute to making SANParks a prominent ‘custodian of choice for the national parks system in South Africa.’

The awards also intend to raise awareness about efforts being made in conservation management and foster sustainable and equitable relationships with external communities interested in the country’s national parks.
SANParks general manager, media, PR and stakeholder relations manager, Rey Thakhuli, says ‘The Kudu Awards are open to all people from various backgrounds with a passion and love for conservation and wildlife.’
Often, these people do selfless, unrecognised work to protect and educate those around them about South Africa’s endangered natural assets.
In addition to recognising exceptional contributions to protecting our country’s natural assets and heritage, the awards honour and celebrate those whose efforts and national pride are exemplary of SANParks’ vision.
‘The SANParks vision, “a world-class system of sustainable national parks reconnecting and inspiring society”, encourages all of South Africa to celebrate the achievements of those around them and to pay tribute to those who work effortlessly to put our parks at the forefront of conservation.’
Award winners will not only receive recognition but will also take home a financial reward.
