City said several graduate internship and skills development opportunities become available during the course of the year as operational needs across the municipality’s departments arise.
As a result, the City requires a solid database of qualified graduates who are ready and available to pursue these opportunities when the specific applications open.
‘I encourage young graduates, as well as those who have attained the National Senior Certificate and are currently unemployed, to take the first step and register their details, said the City’s Mayco member for corporate services, Alderman Theresa Uys.
‘An opportunity best suited to their qualification could become available, and once registered, this will allow them to be considered,’ she added.
According to the City, these graduate internships and skills development programmes aim to offer the kind of training and work experience that helps individuals succeed in the job market and find permanent employment.
To register on the database, applicants will first need to:
- Register for e-Services and activate the careers service via e-Services
- Create an online CV, including personal details, education, training, references and required documents:
- Identification document (ID)
- Cover letter
- Qualifications such as matric certificate, diploma or degree
Once the online CV has been created, applicants will be able to visit the City’s job search and look for internships they may be interested in.
