A group of young people from Khayelitsha are making waves in the local business scene after participating in the City-funded Youth in Business programme.
Led by UVU Africa and supported by the City of Cape Town, this initiative aims to empower young entrepreneurs with the skills and resources needed to succeed in their projects.
This week, Alderman James Vos, the Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, had the opportunity to meet with some of the entrepreneurs to see the impact of the programme.

One of the success stories highlighted during Alderman Vos’s visit was Eezy Technologies, an ICT business founded by Lwandile Mxhamli three years ago.
Mxhamli participated in the Youth in Business programme in 2022, where he underwent a 10-day bootcamp aimed at refining his business concept and equipping him with the tools to effectively manage his enterprise.

Since completing the programme, Eezy Technologies has flourished, offering essential IT, business support and graphic design services to the Khayelitsha community.
Another standout entrepreneur is Siphokuhle Mcotshana, the founder of Mcotshana Holdings, a construction company established in 2022. Like Mxhamli, Mcotshana also participated in the Youth in Business bootcamp, using the knowledge and skills gained to propel his business forward.
