South Africans are brilliant when it comes to making a plan, especially when something is off limits. On Monday, December 28 President Cyril Ramaphosa placed South Africa back into Alert Level 3, with extra provisions.

Beaches, rivers, dams, public pools and parks are off limits to all South Africans in hotspot areas, leaving only the Northern Cape beaches open to visitors.

One Joburger didn’t let that get in his way. What do you do when the City of Joburg doesn’t fix the pothole in your area? You take a dip in it, after adding chlorine first, of course. Then relax ‘pothole side’ with a good magazine, sunblock and a flamingo. When life gives you lemons, go ahead and make that lemonade.
