Disneynature’s Penguins is a 2019 American nature documentary film directed by Alastair Fothergill and Jeff Wilson.
Striking a great balance between being educational, humorous and engaging, the coming-of-age story follows an Adélie penguin named Steve, who joins fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family.
What’s more, the Galileo Open Air Cinema is offering ‘Smart Shoppers’ tickets to this unique outdoor movie experience (including a backrest and blanket) for R112, a whopping R48 off the regular price. Tickets for the Disneynature’s Penguins screening are available on Webtickets.
Bring your own picnic or arrive hungry and enjoy a pre-movie picnic from the Galileo team’s mini market (complete with halaal, vegan and vegetarian options) while soaking in vibey music, roaming photo booths, games and the hum of family and friends socialising.
To mark the occasion, SANCCOB will be joining the party for those who would like to find out how to adopt a penguin, how to donate or discover other ways to support them before the movie starts.
The seabird organisation will also be offering a lucky-draw hamper including a limited-edition penguin and chick plushie, a pair of WaddleOns by Mart socks and a SandCloud beach towel. So be sure to arrive early, secure your ultimate viewing spot and meet our seabird friends.
Narrated with a sprinkle of humour from Ed Harris, this Arctic doccie is a hit for the whole family.
