During their inspection, the AWS discovered an unneutered adult male crossbreed dog chained to a makeshift shelter, an unspayed adult female Pitbull, and a Pitbull puppy chained and confined to their filthy hovel.
The only thing available to them to eat was rancid vomit strewn across the ground, and their water bowls were empty.

They expected a hostile reception and were accompanied by an armed SAPS escort as tensions rose quickly, particularly when they showed the owner a Court Order authorising inspectors to seize the dogs.
‘Our Inspectors refused to be intimidated and stood their ground and by removing the dogs effectively ended their vicious cycle of abuse,’ read a post on Facebook.
‘In our opinion it is these uncaring owners and abusive illegal scenarios that represent the perfect storm and reason for many dog attacks.’
‘These dogs suffered unimaginable cruelty and abuse. They were treated like objects not sentient beings. That’s like being tortured – day in and day out.’
The AWS added that the dog’s circumstances and the way they were mistreated resulted in them becoming a potential danger to society.
‘Now the hard work begins as we set about rehabilitating them and making sure that their owner does not become a repeat offender and indirect contributor to future dog attacks.’
