The Cape Town-based television series, Blood & Water is coming back for a third season.
While teen series have become hits worldwide – Aussie’s Heartbreak High, the UK’s Sex Education – Blood & Water has proved its mettle.
Netflix announced that the series that bagged Best TV Drama 2021 at the South African Film and Television Awards is back with season 3 on 25 November 2022.
The season 3 teaser trailer was released yesterday hyping the actual premier next month.
Ama Qamata, Nasty C, Natasha Thahane, Khosi Ngema, Thabang Molaba and Cindy Mahlangu will reunite once again in the quest to find the sister kidnapped as a baby.
Why we love it:
Blood & Water‘s cast is made up of fresh talent and celebrities alike.
The lead actress Ama Qamata had barely completed her first year of drama school when she landed the role.
A part she plays so exceptionally well that the first season instantly made her into a celebrity in what seems like overnight.
The complex storyline unpacks serious teen issues – bullying, relationships and status issues.
Local is lekker
The soundtracks are always the latest and freshest from local talents such as Amanda Black, Saint Jude and African Roots.
This drama series showcases views of Cape Town’s City Bowl as an added bonus, even giving sneak peeks of some of Camps Bay’s most luxurious homes.
Experience Cape Town’s sunsets, Table Mountain, the beach, and the views of the Southern Suburbs from Cape Town from UCT’s Upper Campus in the drama series.
Blood & Water is a must-watch and if the trailer is an accurate preview, then shakeups, scandals and family drama are a sure thing.
