The Mother City is in for an action-packed Easter long weekend as our local rugby and soccer teams go head-to-head against some formidable opponents at two of Cape Town’s most iconic stadiums – the DHL Stadium and the Athlone Stadium.

Whether your heart’s filled with scrums and phases or free kicks and corners, the City of Cape Town is encouraging all fellow Capetonians to come out in their numbers to support our local teams.
Here’s all the sports action you can expect this weekend:
Cape Town City vs Kaizer Chiefs
Cape Town City gets the ball rolling on Saturday afternoon in a DSTV Premiership game against Kaizer Chiefs at Athlone Stadium.
With City currently fifth on the PSL table, the game promises to be an absolute kicker as the team looks to strengthen its chances of a place in the CAF competition positions with a win on Saturday.
Gates for the game open at 12:30pm for a 3:30pm kick-off.
Tickets for the game are available at various Ticketpro outlets across the city.
Residents and motorists are advised of the following temporary road closures for game day:
- Cross Boulevard and Klipfontein Road (12pm to 7pm)
- Cross Boulevard and Springbok Street (12pm to 7pm)
- Hickory Street and Springbok Street (12pm to 7pm)
- Hickory Street and Clover Crescent (12pm to 7pm)
No vehicles will be allowed to park or stop on Cross Boulevard in front of the stadium, Lower Klipfontein Road, Hickory Street between Clover and Springbok streets as well as Clover Crescent.
DHL Stormers vs Ulster
Later on Saturday, the DHL Stormers will be going for a second straight win in the United Rugby Championship when they meet Irish side Ulster at the DHL Stadium.
Gates for the game open two hours before kick-off, which is at 7:15pm.

Ticket holders are encouraged to make use of the park-and-ride system where they park their vehicles in the city centre and take the free MyCiTi shuttle to the stadium.

Cape Town Spurs vs Moroka Swallows
On Sunday, Cape Town Spurs will go up against Moroka Swallows at the Athlone Stadium.
Kick-off is at 3:30pm with gates opening at 2:30pm

Bayhill Premier Cup Finals
The Bayhill Finals will bring down the curtain on an exciting long weekend of sporting action at the Athlone Stadium on Monday, 1 April.
After five days of action, featuring 32 under-19 teams, the tournament’s final day will see six clubs contesting for three trophies, including the rights to be crowned Premier Cup champions for 2024.
An R50 ticket will give spectators front-row seats to three games from some of the best under-19 sides at the tournament.

The following road closures will be implemented on game day:
- Cross Boulevard: Between Springbok Street and Klipfontein Road (4am to 11pm)
- Slip by stadium on Klipfontein Road (4am to 11pm)
- Hickory Street: Between Klipfontein Road and Springbok Street (4am to 11pm)
- Clover Crescent: Between Hickory Road and Calendula Road (4am to 11pm)
