The #AnimateCT Challenge marked South Africa’s first Street Animation Festival, in which approximately 33 animators from across the country and anyone with a creative eye submitted videos set in ten selected hotspots around the Mother City under the theme of ‘Unexpected’.

What’s next for the platform?
With a successful debut campaign under their belts, the word on the street is that an ‘As Seen at Comic Con’ route will soon be made available to viewers who enjoy seeing Cape Town landmarks creatively reinvented.
With planned animation routes across Cape Town involving cosplayers, animation, burlesque, dance, classical music, comedy and more in store, it seems we can expect the unexpected from this up-and-coming new platform.
