Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) has exciting news. Both the ‘Past Disquiet’ and ‘Seismography of Struggles’ exhibitions have been extended until 16 June, 2024, due to popular demand.
Located on Level 4 of the museum, ‘Past Disquiet’ dives into the rich history of art collections intended as expressions of solidarity or resistance to political causes.

Curated by Kristine Khouri and Rasha Salti, this exhibition features a captivating array of documents, photographs, pamphlets and videos, offering insights into the intersection of art and activism.
The exhibition has received acclaim and recently opened at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, France.
Meanwhile, ‘Seismography of Struggles’ explores non-European critical and cultural journals as instruments of resistance in anti-colonial and liberatory movements.

Curated by Zahia Rahmani, this itinerant exhibition and research project spans from the late 18th century to 1989, shedding light on pivotal historical events such as the Haitian Revolution and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
With a focus on decentralising European perspectives, ‘Seismography of Struggles’ has been showcased globally, evolving through ongoing research efforts.
Entry to Zeitz MOCAA is free every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm for all African citizens.
