It has been confirmed that Disney100 – The Concert, presented by Don’t Look Down Entertainment, is set to take place at the Grand Arena in GrandWest from Friday, 7 July to Sunday, 9 July.
Featuring big screen highlights from the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel, iconic musical moments will be brought to life by The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra accompanied by vocal performances, live in concert.
After delighting thousands of fans of every age in Johannesburg, this movie concert experience promises to entertain Cape Town with the greatest movie moments, scores and soundtracks from iconic films such as The Lion King, Moana, Pirates of the Caribbean and Beauty and the Beast, as well as highlights from the worlds of Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel.
Since 2016, the successful musical series Disney in Concert has been enchanting fans worldwide with these legendary soundtracks.
As part of the celebrations in its 100th anniversary year, this special edition of the popular global concert series dedicates itself to a journey that celebrates 100 years of adventure, emotions and, of course, Disney music magic.
Since its founding in 1923, The Walt Disney Company’s storytelling has been set to the backdrop of mesmerising, award-winning melodies and songs. Whether under water or on the high seas, in the vastness of the universe or simply in a child’s room, the soundtracks of Disney’s stories touch hearts and move people of all generations.
The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Maestro Eddie Clayton, features vocal performances of star soloists as part of the phenomenal multimedia Disney experience.

Thabiso Masemene
Thabiso Masemane is one of South Africa’s most popular classical vocalists. His resumé includes playing Nemorino in L’Elisir d’amore while still at university.
In 2011, he performed the role of Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro, produced by Opera Africa.
He performed in The Phantom of the Opera world tour in more than 500 performances in Manila, Seoul, Bangkok, Singapore and more.
Zita Pretorius
Zita Pretorius is a classical-crossover singer performing across a spectrum of classical, opera and contemporary music.
At the age of 18, she won the overall competition at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles.
Thereafter, she released a duet album with Rudi Claase, selling 26 000 copies. She later signed with Universal Music and has won the Naledi prize as well as the Tempo prize.
Monde Msutwana
Former Idols finalist, Monde Msutwana is a seasoned singer/songwriter who has performed on stages around the world.
He has released his own solo albums and is also a voice over artist and MC.
Monde was a voice coach on The Voice SA and has composed several film and television themes for projects like The River as well as being a featured voice in the movie The Lucky Specials.
Monique Steyn
Monique Steyn is a popular recording artist and spectacular performer with several Top 40 radio hits under her belt and two Tempo Awards.
Her incredible voice has seen her perform at Lexus Classics as well as Afrikaans is Groot.
Monique is a true performer in every sense of the word, having honed her skills on stages across South Africa. She has also been a vocal mentor on the reality singing competition Die Kontrak, where both season winners have come from her team.
