The deadline for non-profit organisations (NPOs) seeking funding for social welfare and community development services in the province has been extended by two weeks.
Eligible organisations now have until 4pm on Friday, 29 September 2023, to submit their funding proposals to the Western Cape Department of Social Development.
It is important that these proposals align with the specific requirements outlined by the various departmental programmes.

To facilitate the application process, NPOs can choose from three submission methods: online applications, email submissions or delivery to the department’s head office.
When applying, NPOs must ensure they use the standardised application form and include all the required supporting documents. The submitted proposals will undergo a thorough assessment, and applicants will receive notifications regarding the outcomes.
Successful organisations can expect funding to commence on 1 April 2024.
Notably, the programme specifications for older persons do not cover residential, independent or assisted living facilities, and the programme specifications for persons with disabilities exclude residential facilities and protective workshops.
